Tallinn’s 21st Pimedate Ööde Filmifestival (PÖFF) – as it is called in Estonian language – is not quite halfway through yet and today is the kick off of the International Film Competition. It will be a strong kick off indeed with the much talked about Indian film “Granny” directed by Devashish Makhija (European premiere). Tonight will be also the opening of the First Feature Competition with Israeli Yehonatan Indursky‘s “Driver” (World’s premiere) and Russian Ksenija Zujeva‘s “Nearest and Dearest” (International premiere).
Two Lifetime Achievement Awards have been already announced and handed over to an Estonian actor Tõnu Kark as well as to a Finnish director and producer Jörn Donner. Congratulations to them!
