On the 8th of May, The Cannes Film Festival opened with Everybody Knows, starring Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

On the 19th of May, Terry Gilliam‘s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote closed the film festival. The film that took decades – 20 years! – from funding problems to set disasters and legal battles…

In between Lars Von Trier premiered his movie  The House That Jack Built. Another shocking and provoking film of his that many viewers could not stand to watch.

The Cannes Film Festival jury president Cate Blanchett led Women’s March in Honor of Gender Equality. They demanded parity at the Cannes Film Festival.

Well, the usual, things being as they are in the world and in the film business among others.
